About Us
HorsePower! was founded in 2000 by an occupational and a speech therapist seeking new ways to engage people in therapeutic work. Teamed with several parents and educators, they founded the HorsePower! Therapeutic Riding Program.
HorsePower! Therapeutic Riding Program serves young people with special needs through equine activities. Our therapeutic riding program promotes physical, mental, and social well-being which enhances individual achievement and overall independence. Our programs focus on ability, not disability, offering welcome respite from wheelchairs, braces and other limitations.
Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) have been shown to improve our clients’ muscle tone, balance, posture, motor development, coordination and emotional well-being. These benefits produce a “ripple effect” into all aspects of our clients’ lives..
Budget & Expenses HorsePower! is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2000. We rely on volunteer assistance, contributions, and program tuition to continue. All funds raised go directly to support our rider programs.
